March Madness

So I am sitting on my couch tonight watching my bracket fall apart (hard to believe I am still single right??). I was once in the 90th percentile, and now I am STRUGGLING, I mean come on, 40th percentile?? YIKES!!

March has been good, but MAD!

-Work has been insanely busy. Tons of meetings and events, and it is not slowing down anytime soon.
-We dropped Jonah off to start learning Tagolag for his mission.

-We picked James up from his. Him serving in Provo was a total tender mercy. Jonah entered the MTC (in Provo) on Marcch 18th, James was done (in Provo) on March 19th. We were all able to go to the temple. For the first time all of us kids and our parents were in the temple as well as extended family. It was such a great experience to be there with our entire family.

-While I was in Utah I saw some friends I haven't seen in a while and it was great! Provo will always be a special place to me, BYU will always have a special place. I am thinking a trip to Laie is overdue...that place is just amazing!
-The NCAA tournament came to Omaha. It was fun to see the frenzy, boy was KU disappointed. They also ruined my bracket, so after their game, I was not happy to have to go into work on Sunday for them.

I am also thinking about my biggest New Year's resolution.

This is my mile tracker, I have decided to run 2015 miles this year....get the mileage and the year correlation? All of the marks are the miles I have run this year. I am so excited, getting a little behind I think, but I am sure I can do it. So far this year I have run 453 miles, 3 half-marathons (I have signed up for more) and I have seen my endurance for running get so much longer. I am so grateful to have a healthy body that can do this, although, after the halves I definitely feel it more than just a six mile run.

My life My life...

Man I am totally sucking at posting, but who really reads these anyway right?!??

So since July I have
-had my little brother come visit me (the only other family member besides my grandparents to come visit me in the good ol' prairie)
-been playing tennis (I couldn't be happier)
-I have gone boating
-I think I have run around every body of water here in Omaha...we do have a lot of lakes :)
-I have worked and worked and worked and worked
-I have been to Kansas City MO & KS..oh yeah!

-I watched my older brother get MARRIED...WHAT?!?!!?
-Gone on an extreme photo scavenger hunt
I don't know this guy but I approved...he didn't smell like weed or alcohol!
-I have been pretty busy...oh and one of the biggest/ most fun things I have done was the RODEO! This year I was in charge of the rodeo for my company, pretty crazy! So many moving parts, 100 different contestants every night for 3 nights, about 100,000 people accumulative came over the 4 days. I was so excited and nervous that I would forget something, but everything went GREAT!

-I also had another Regional YSA Activity thrown in there somewhere

UPDATE!!!

I am not dwelling on my last post, however you would never know since I haven't posted anything since FEBRUARY!

So I have been working, a lot, and I have gone through one of the roughest events I have had. It was hard, and really long. During the event, I had to call the EMT's almost every day, there were tornado sirens going off, I was just really glad none of the attendees got seriously injured or worse. We did have some of the attendees tip their scooters over..that was an experience to say the least.
The last night of the event was great and flawless.

After that long event, was COLLEGE WORLD SERIES. I have become a lover of this event. I love that I don't really have to do a thing with it, however, I did have a couple of pre-game parties, and my school was Ole Miss.

After  CWS was Shawni's wedding! Shawni is one of my very best friends, we met as freshman at BYU-Hawaii. I was so excited to go to Arizona for this wedding, and it was so nice. She was the most beautiful bride EVERRR and I hope that Shawni and Sean have a great life. It was also so much fun to see some of my other friends from BYUH. It has been a while since I have seen a lot of these people, and it was awesome to see them again!

Winter Tales

Winter in Nebraska has been harsh. Not only have the temperatures been crazy extreme, but the roads are the same. One day they will be packed with ice, snow, and a million accidents across the interstate, or just up the road from work...
I had my first run in with black ice....hopefully it will be my last one. I was headed to work early one morning because I had an event moving in, and took a corner clearly too fast and jumped onto the median and ran into the bridge column. It was an early phone call for my parents, and it was the most stressful day I had had up to that point. It was a long day, but after two weeks, I would say I think it ended well.

I have now officially made my first adult purchase. EEEEEKKK. But I LOVE my new car, and it is great.

2013 it's Been Real!

So I am a little behind with the whole getting last year out of my life...(although I don't feel too bad because it has only been 2014 for 5 days). I have been thinking back on this past year, and holy cow, I had a happening life. I transitioned from student to young working professional; Utah to Nebraska; Single to taken to SINGLE; warm to UTTERLY FREEZING; lonely to having friends; completley overwhelmed to able to handle work; dumb about to alcohol to actually quite knowledgeable about alcohol; car breaking into to a locked garage(yeah I had a STEEP learning curve on this one). This year has been crazy good, and crazy blessed! I have learned to really rely on my Savior for guidance, comfort, confidence, and to catch on to things at work. I know that I am not the first person to ever graduate college and get a job, but this was a HUGE milestone for me and I am LOVING it.

For Christmas this year, my family had the elders and one of the best families I know of over on Christmas Eve. This family acts out the story of Christ's birth every year on Christmas Eve, we were let in on this tradition this well. Jarrett and Jack got WAY into dressing up. I think that if we had had a dress up box when we were little, the boys would have used it more than me. Jack was so proud of himself, he was a wise-man that came on "camel bak"(not camel back)..

Jarrett is wearing a tiara, and Jack's towel and rich furs.

I made a quilt during the break. I am excited for it to be sent to me in this FRIGID season! That was halfway done, if I didn't have to rip out the first row's seams 3 times, I could have finished it in one day instead of 1.5 days. I know now that the fabric always goes face to face!

The new YSA standard of distance?

I have resorted to BUYING wood?? It's a little embarrassing to be buying a silly little bit of wood, but my fireplace is my best friend right now.
My cool things I went to in 2013
Taylor Swift
College World Series
Lil' Wayne (never again!!)
The Rodeo
Creighton Baseball Games
The Zoo
BYU Men's MPSF ChampionshiP
Omaha Storm Chasers
My theme from a fortune cookie: Hope is the most precious treasure to a person. I would change the word hope to FAITH, but the cookie was from PF Changs....

BRING IT ON 2014!!!

This past month has been INSANE. I have been working all month and the one weekend I did have off I went home and surprised Baby Jonah at his senior night football game. I was so good. Thankfully no one at home gave away the surprise, and it was perfect timing Keith Urban was having his concert on Friday. So on Thursday was the first day of Keith load-in, so all of the posters and stuff directing people in back of house went up. I took pictures on Thursday around the building and sent them to Jonah throughout the day while I had layovers on Friday. Then I showed up at his football game and he was surprised. I think it was more fun for me to know I was surprising him than it was for him to have me there. Oh well, it was also really fun because Jarrett is living near home, and Jack came home from Rexburg. We were just missing James.

When I got back to Omaha, the next day I had a walk-through with the Secret Service, yeah that was stressful. I had no idea what to expect, but they were such nice guys. On Tuesday Laura Bush came and spoke at a luncheon. I was able to meet her, and it was awesome! It was just me, her, and about 10 secret service agents. Pretty crazy! My year has been made, I met someone I admire. It was awesome. One of the agents texted me the other day and asked me if I had come down from my high and I said I probably wouldn't be down for a while.

He's no Rexy, but...this dog made sure we had no bombs in the facility.

I am Secret Service Official!!

Ummm..yeah some clients ROCK!!
I randomly got this package from one of my clients this month. She was so great, and I was shocked when I saw the box. It was insane and was a pretty great surprise at the end of a really long week. I called my dad and told him the bar has been raised, I was kidding, kind of..hahaha :)

Des Moines

A few months ago, one of my old roommates, Ruthann and her husband Ross found out that they got into Med School in Des Moines. I was so excited to have friends so close (well, relatively...2 hours)? I finally went and saw them last weekend and had a blast! We went to the Farmer's Market downtown.
Downtown in the rain
It was nice to catch-up and see them. They are SO married and happy! YAY. I haven't really seen/hung out with R&R since their wedding and school. That seems so long ago, but it wasn't really. Almost a year apparently. I am so excited that they are close! YAY for friends! Now if I can just get Jarrett, Steph, Lindsey, Lauren, etc out here, that would be so great!

Later in the day we went to Zombie Burger, a Des Moines favorite I guess. I am so not into Zombie's but the burgers were good :). Everything was named after a zombie, dead thing, or whatever the Goosebumps world has to offer. You have to try everything once right?
